Trip to Kochi

Last weekend my family and I went to Kochi by car and had a good time. It was a bit surprising that we arrived there in two and a half hours from Okayama! We first visited Syoryuji temple - Asashoryu, a grand champion (Yokozuna) in sumo chose his name from this temple! To get to this temple, you have to climb up a long way. I heard that the Yokozuna Asasyoryu used these steps for training when he lived in Kochi. We looked around the temple a bit and got some feeling for Asashoryu. After having lunch at a restaurant by the sea and enjoying a great view of Kochi, we went to a hotel. The hotel looked very full and soon after we found out why. There was a professional golf tournament nearby and many golfers were staying at the same hotel as us! The best thing was that Michelle Wee (I hope my spelling is correct...) was one of those golfers! She was competing in the men's tournament (unfortunately, she couldn't qualify for the final round). My family and I had a french dinner on the top floor of the hotel and it was delicious! We saw Michell Wee and she was very tall and beautiful. My father tried to get her autograph by asking ME to do it - I said no! (because I thought it was rude to ask for her autograph during a meal). Now I regret not asking for her autograph ... I will probably never see her again! Anyway, it was a good and exciting weekend!
PS: Arigatou so much J for your teachings!

We are ready with silly coveralls and a helmet! I hope this will be the first and last time for me to wear them!! Posted by Picasa

Is everything under control, captain?? Posted by Picasa

We were all required to wear a helmet and I know we look very silly... Posted by Picasa

The captain of the vessel loves paintings and there are many paintings on the wall. Posted by Picasa
