My golden week holiday.

From April 29th to May 7th I had a nine days-off called "Golden Week Holiday" and it was a very nice holiday! On the first day, there was a birthday party for my lovey nephew Yamato. He just turned into one year old in April and getting cuter and cuter everyday. I am looking forward to hearing his first word soon!

One the second day of my holiday, my friend and I visited Zentsuuji temple in Kagawa - one of 88 temples in Shikoku. I have decided to visit all the 88 temples on foot and this was my first visit. Our original intention was to visit a few tepmples nearby on that day but walking to the temple was a lot harder than we had expected and we could only visit one... Zentsuuji temple was having a 1,200th years memorial festival but there weren't so many people and we could have a very relaxed time.

On May 1st, one of my best friends from Australia, "Professor J" who lives in Kanto came down to Okayama. We did many things in a few days as usual, visited Korakuen - one of the best gardens in Japan, had a lovely Teppanyaki dinner on the 20th floor, went to an amusement park "Washuzan Highland" (the roller coasters were soooo scary but fun!!!), and the best thing for me was a visit to Tokushima! J and I visited Tairyuuji temple first, then met J's good friends (Nsan & Terry) in Tokushima. We had a good lunch at a restaurant 'Country-road' and had coffee at N'san's house. It was really good to see some students screaming J's name when they saw he was back! After the coffee, we said good-bye to Nsan and Terry and went to take our favourite outside bath which is on top of cliff and looks out over the sea - very beautiful.
I really wanted to stay longer and spend a few more days in Tokushima, but we had to go back to Okayama. We took mountain roads on our way back because Tokushima has beautiful scenery. It was around 11pm when we got back to Okayama.

I had a really nice hoiliday and as the proverb says, time did fly!!!

All the coasters were so scary that I screamed a lot. I think I was very noisy... Posted by Picasa

We found a cute little mole on the way to Tairyuuji temple. Unfortunately, it was dead...  Posted by Picasa

A ropeway to Tairyuuji temple. It costs 2,600 yen! I have never used this and always walk to the temple. Posted by Picasa

White light-house hotel in Tokushima. J and I would often take a bath here. It was a bit surprising to see the wall was re-painted in blue! Should be called "Blue Light-house hotel" now :)!  Posted by Picasa
