Modern and Traditional

Last weekend I took a trip to Kansai region - Osaka and Kyoto. I really love Kansai and that is one of the reasons I went to a university in Kyoto.
It was Saturday but I woke up early to catch the Shinkansen. My father was going to Tsuyama city for a goldfish show, so he gave me a lift and dropped me off at Okayama station. It was still early morning but there were many people at the station already! What I was more surprised was that I saw a yellow Shinkansen!!! I have seen many Shinkansen but it was my first time to see yellow one!! Yellow is considered to be a lucky colour in Japan, I, however, didn't really like the colour so much.
It is now a good season for travelling - Two of us had to stand up all the way to Osaka because there was no seats to take. It is so unfair that equal amont of money is required for the people like us and the people who are sitting and resting their feet! We arrived at Osaka station at around 10:00am. There was this very interesting modern art show and we really enjoyed that. It was called IN.sig.ni.a - Graffiti Meets Wondows 2005. After the show, we had some lunch and then moved to Kyoto. Arrived at the station, I soon realised some music is flattering my ears - it was a music for Gion festival. The music was certainly enlivening the mood of city for the festival. We walked around Kawaramachi, had some tea at a very traditional-looking cafe, took some pictures etc. Walking around Kyoto is so much fun. I always encounter nice surprises.
We decided to leave Kyoto early because shops were having "sale" and there were so many people. We still had a good time - I was thinking when I should go back to Kansai on the Shinkansen way back to Okayama.
